Why are socks not entirely made of cotton?

On one hand, not all designs can be realized with cotton. On the other hand, a sock needs polyamide. But why? Polyamide is a high-quality synthetic fiber that is particularly well suited for socks. It is supple and airy, dries very quickly and therefore ideally complements our moisture-absorbing cotton. In addition, polyamide is very durable, tear and abrasion resistant. After all, socks must withstand quite a lot in shoes or on different surfaces. Even after many washings, the socks still look good and are in good condition. This is more sustainable. Further the elastane in combination with polyamide ensures dimensional stability and durability. As a result, the socks do not shrink and remain in top shape for a long time.
